NKE

61.30

Nike Inc. (NKE)

Jim:
You know I have been thinking about Nike, I was doing work in Nike vs. Under Armour (UA), and I have to tell you that Under Armour did have a good quarter… and so did Lululemon Athletic (LULU) by the way… I think that Nike is very cheap, I do not have visibility into the quarter… I do think that Nike can be bought on a scale down…. remember, this is not a good market… but Nike is a high quality name… there was a very good report that Goldman Sachs put out recently which said a lot of good things about Nike… I think that Goldman is right and Nike is right.

SSRI

17.27

Silver Standard Resources Inc. (SSRI)

Jim:   You know I am not sure I am a believer in silver right here… I do believe that we should have some precious metals, but I recommend the SPDR Gold ETF (GLD)… I have to tell you that the precious metals complex is under tremendous liquidation by hedge funds… that own very little of anything it seems… and I say let the stocks come down, let them come down… silver and gold are both going down… pick your spot, I reiterate that Eldorado Gold Corp. (EGO) is the gold stock that I want to own… or GLD, which is the tracking stock.

EGO

11.85

Eldorado Gold Corp. (EGO)

GLD

GILD*

46.09

Gilead Sciences Inc. (GILD*)

Jim:   I just put out a note today for ActionAlertsPlus.com, my charitable trust, Stephanie Link and I, who works with me… we both agreed that Gilead has got a new, there is going to be a new formulation of the new anti age drug coming out soon, we think that it is very powerful… Gilead had one of the best upside surprises this whole quarter… there is only a penny per share problem if the dollar stays this strong… I think that Gilead has everything that you want in this market… and I am a huge buyer… by the power of nine.

V*

83.05

Visa Inc. (V*)

Jim:   Wow, I have got to tell you, that Visa conference call… I went over that again this week, I know the chart looks bad, I know that people think it is going to roll over… that was a monster… oh come on man, this is Visa we are talking about… Visa had the best beat of almost any company… Visa and Cisco are the best two numbers last week and had the misfortune of coming on a really bad day… but Visa is really rocking and remember, that is not a credit issue… what it is, is people going from cash and check to debit card… and that is why I like Visa so much, and is such a big position for me in my charitable trust.

CHD

60.57

Church & Dwight Co. Inc. (CHD)

Jim:   Very good company in this environment, but let’s not forget Clorox (CLX) reported last week and so did Colgate (CL), I actually prefer both of them to Church & Dwight… but Church & Dwight has got good fundamentals… it is the right kind of stock in this choppy environment.

CLX

60.27

Clorox Co. (CLX)

See CHD comments above for:
CLX

CL

79.09

Colgate-Palmolive Co. (CL)

See CHD comments above for:
CL

POT

101.51

Potash (POT)

Jim:   Oh, you know that I like it… POT is my favorite because I like the yield, however, once again, as I saw Monsanto (MON) just wilt today, we have to understand Potash is what I call a high beta stock… meaning that it could go up or down in a heartbeat… I want you to be careful with that one… I think, even though I like the fundamentals in 2011 for a return in fertilizer, POT is going to be a difficult one… as difficult as owning Electronic Arts (ERTS), another one that blows up again that I still like... POT is a stock that I like, but I do not expect it to go up anytime soon.

ACOR

29.99

Acorda Therapeutics, Inc. (ACOR)

Jim:
You know, this is an interesting company... I am a huge believer that people who like to speculate should be involved in companies that are trying to solve spinal injuries or MS… these are horrible illnesses and if you can get… it is the Holy Grail if you can solve it… and it really is important, I am willing to speculate with Acorda… That is how strongly I feel about its end market… remember, these companies are not making money but they do have revenue.

NAK

8.62

Northern Dynasty Minerals Ltd. (NAK)

Jim:   Oh man, now see, this is different… I just mentioned that I was willing to speculate with Acorda… Why? Because they are doing some remarkable things in medicine about spinal injuries..   This, on the other hand, is speculation of a Vancouver company about precious metals… No thank you… got it… no thank you… I do not speculate in Canadian mining companies… we have got burned too many times… no way, no how.

RMBS

21.18

Rambus Inc. (RMBS)

Jim:   Yes I do, I thought that decision was breakthrough about Rambus… I am going to give you a twosome because you said those nice things… I also like NVidia (NVDA)... I think both of those are going higher… I want people in them… there, that is my gift.

NVDA

16.06

NVidia Corporation (NVDA)

SYNA

26.09

Synaptics Inc. (SYNA)

Jim:   You know, this is touch screen, this is mobile, when I hear that I think to myself, why do I need this one? When I can buy Cypress (CY), a better than expected quarter, T.J. Rogers at the helm… that is the buy, buy, buy… $10 stock, seems to be stuck right here… I think that it breaks out to $15 by year end.

CY

10.89

Cypress Semiconductor (CY)

See SYNA comments above for:
CY

DOLE

11.10

Dole Food Co, Inc. (DOLE)

Jim:   I said this... buy, buy, buy… and I was wrong... sell, sell, sell!… and I have done a mea culpa on this, I got faked out by the bankers, I will not get faked out again… sell, sell, sell… that one is a train wreck.

VMI

69.24

Valmont Industries, Inc. (VMI)

Jim:   You know what? This is kind of a pastiche of companies.. it does coatings, it does poles, it is very infrastructure oriented.. if you believe like I do and like Dan DiMicco does, that we are eventually going to have to return to infrastructure spending in this country… Dan Dimicco being the excellent CEO of Nucor (NUE), who by the way hails from Westchester of all places, from Mount Kisco… I think, yeah, Mount Kisco, I think Valmont comes back… I want you to buy some more… I like the stock… you are doing it right.

PBR

39.76

Petroleo Brasileiro (PBR)

Jim:
Okay, here is the deal, listen up… this is a company that I really like, it has got great technology, it is terrific… but you know what? The market cap is just too darn big… let me just get this, the market cap is so large that I think that it spooks people… $165b … I prefer, just so you know, I like Chevron (CVX*) 4% yield, I have been buying it for my charitable trust, ActionAlertsPlus.com… I think that it represents a better buy and has better growth.

CVX*

70.75

Chevron Corp. (CVX*)

See PBR comments above for:
CVX*

GOOG

534.45

Google, Inc. (GOOG)

Jim:   Right, today it is a compete against AT&T, the high speed video… you know what? They do have a lot of initiatives, and I like that… but in the end, I think, if you close yourself out of the China market… remember we had to downgrade our target price of Google, and we have been right… we have been right to be less enthusiastic, because look at Bayou… and by the way, we had a caller the other night about Bayou, a terrific woman, who said that she was in it about $450... she just picked up about 35 points… I ask you, what kind of game can you make that kind of money in? And boy was she resolute about it… but Google right now, it is still in the bow-wow chateau.

EVEP

28.97

EV Energy Partners LP (EVEP)

Jim:   Alright, now here is the thing Roger, because you are an educator you also know that sometimes you do not know the answers and you have just got to admit it… I think before I pronounce a 10% yielder as something that may be a red flag, or something that may be good… I must do homework… I either have to contact the CEO and try to get him on the show, or do my own work… we know, we talked to Michael Linn (CEO of Linn Energy (LINE), we feel very good about that yield… but we have got to do more work, memo to staff, let’s come back with an answer on that stock.

BUCY

53.79

Bucyrus International (BUCY)

Jim:   Alright, Dave, listen, I think that the quarter is going to be good, that is not the problem… The problem is, once again, that anything that is even remotely associated with the China slowdown… as good as Bucyrus is, it is going to be hard to be able to get any traction in the stock… even though I have seen… Will Gabrielski is a friend of mine from Broadpoint...  He just recommended the stock… there is a lot of good things happening, but you know, I worry the China story is overwhelming that situation… until we know that China is done tightening, I think that that one is going to be under a cloud, unfortunately.

RFMD

4.06

RF Micro Devices Inc. (RFMD)

Jim:   It has been a disappointment, it has been a disappointment, I cannot believe that a company that is associated so deeply with the tsunami… this is involved radio waves, it has been… we had the CEO on, it was terrific… radio frequency integrated circuits… I would love to have the guy back, I am quite surprised … but a lot of people gave up on ADC Telecommunications (ADCT)... that reported a good quarter… so did Tellabs (TLAB)… so let’s not give up yet on RF Micro… but it has been disappointing...  What can I say? You have got to own the disappointments like Tessera (TSRA). You have got to own the disappointments like RF Micro… that allows you to sing the praises of the rest of the tsunami… RF Micro is okay.

BWLD

48.40

Buffalo Wild Wings Inc. (BWLD)

Jim:
You know what?... I am going to do something that I know no one is going to like to hear… they reported, and they just reported, and you know what? I have not had a good enough chance to look at them… I have not had a good enough chance to look at Panera Bread Co. (PNRA), or Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (CMG)… all of which are apparently weaker… so I have got to come back with a little restaurant round up after I have done some digging… and I am not there yet other than I see the stock is down… one of the things that I want to get away from is to say oh the stock is down, therefore it is bad… because that does you a disservice.

PNRA

72.91

Panera Bread Co. (PNRA)

CMG

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (CMG)

See BWLD comments above for:

BKH

26.12

Black Hills Corporation (BKH)

Jim:   Yeah, I like BKH, I have to tell you that I like BKH… Black Hills, it is a real good company and you probably have a better handle on it than I do… but I will tell you this, I have also been looking at a bunch of others including SCANA Corp. (SCG)… this is a company that looks a lot like Allegheny Energy Inc. (AYE) that got a takeover bid today… so that is my pick to you partner.

SCG

34.96

SCANA Corp. (SCG)

See BKH comments above for:
SCG

SYA

12.82

Symetra Financial Corporation (SYA)

Jim:   Recently came public, you know I think this company is a really, really good company… I saw this too, I thought that it should have been bought on it… this is one of those companies, let’s be really clear about this… this has some great bloodlines, Why? Berkshire Hathaway owns a big stake in it… so I want to buy that stock, I think that it is undervalued… buy, buy, buy!  Take some.  Take some in.

COP

48.90

ConocoPhillips (COP)

Note:  Caller asked what Jim thought about swapping out of FRT for COP...

Jim:   Huh, Don Woods is not going to like this, he is the CEO of Federal Realty Investment Trust (FRT), a man who has been a terrific guest and we bought the stock…I mean aggressively recommended it to buy the stock… but I have to go with Conoco Phillips here... Why? Because I see the Western Governors starting to push for natural gas… we had Mr. Pinkerton on from Range Resources (RRC) yesterday… Conoco oil is a gigantic natural gas company with a good yield, it also has oil… so, I do not want to say sell Federal Reality, but I do think that Conoco at this price is a better buy… sorry, Mr. Woods, don’t take it personally.

WFT

15.23

Weatherford International Ltd. (WFT)

Jim:   Let’s step up to the plate… I have been pull the trigger for my charitable trust on this one… multiple times, why? Why do you ask do I want to be in Weatherford, which is a pretty good driller? And the answer is this… it is simple, they have got big Iraq contracts… and that is what I want… I do not think that anyone… Go listen to the Schlumberger (SLB) conference call and you will hear, you will hear how big Iraq is… and I think that Weatherford is the leveraged way to play it… I am not worried about Mexico as much as other people.

SFD

16.30

Smithfield Foods Inc. (SFD)

Jim:   Oh, you know this is a tough one…I remember talking about this one with the great Mike Price, the legendary Mike Price, we had him at the Oklahoma Boomer Sooner tour… and I remember, you know, I am not current enough … and I have got to do some calls… because at the time the stock was at $12, it is now at $16.. I think it may have already been reached his price… you know what, I am going to say do not buy right now… it has too big a run… just too big a run.

BBY

35.65

Best Buy (BBY)

Jim:   I have done a lot of work on Best Buy and so far my work has turned fruitless... because I felt that at $40 the stock was going to go up and it has not… it has been a big drag… should I just reiterate buy? No, you know what I want to do? I want to say that I have been wrong, I have been wrong… I talk about a lot of stocks that I got right, I have been wrong on this one… I thought that this thing was going to have a big run… it is not working out, I cannot keep flogging it… because the quarter was just okay… this is an embarrassment to me because I thought this thing was going to have a good quarter… it had a good quarter and it still did not go up… it is saying to me that something is wrong… I listen to the footsteps.

FSLR

113.81

First Solar (FSLR)

Jim:   No, no, you got the run, you got the day… oil went up a little today… look the solar plays, JA Solar (JASO) was good…I am not a believer in the solar plays… why? They need government subsidies… the governments all over the world are out of moola… I am not a player.

JASO

5.08

JA Solar Holdings Co., Ltd. (JASO)

See FSLR comments above for:
JASO

CY

11.30

Cypress Semiconductor (CY)

Jim:   Yes, yes, it was big today… having a rally, it is breaking out… you know that we like TJ Rogers, Dr. TJ Rogers to you, and Cypress Semi is at the heart of the touch screen internet tsunami.. I am still a buyer of Cypress… I am still a buyer of Rogers.

S

3.16

Sprint Nextel Corp. (S)

Jim:
I did not like that quarter, there was not a lot to like there… I have got to tell you something, we have got to see some momentum… we got Verizon (VZ) and we got AT&T (T) just shooting at everybody… and we got Google, Inc. (GOOG) coming in with high speed lines… Man, you have really got to have a good yield to be able to stay in that joint.

POL

7.50

Polyone Corp. (POL)

Jim:   Why would you sell Polyone? My friend, Frank Mitch at BB&T, who is by the way a Mets fan, I am downgrading them to junk… yeah, downgrading to junk… I think that Polyone is a strong, strong buy, and my Met fan is not here today so I can get away with that without being crushed after the show is over.

IOC

66.97

Interoil Corp. (IOC)

Jim:   The most speculative oil company in the world… there was some demand speculation... has to be speculation Friday… I can bless it, but you know what, for me I like yield… I like bountiful yields from my oil companies… and that one… (went off on the buzzer).

PCS

5.96

MetroPCS Communications Inc. (PCS)

Jim:   I still think that they are going to merge with Leap (Wireless Co.) and that is going to be fantastic, that is what I have been saying…. that combination is terrific… I am not backing away… I know that it acts horribly, but I am not backing away.

TXT

18.32

Textron Inc. (TXT)

Jim:   Yes, you want to own it… there is a turn around in the private jet market, that management has gotten religion… I like everything that I have been hearing from Textron, they buried themselves in debt and then come out of it… they have been thru Hades and back… I like Textron.
