AA |
11.23 |
Alcoa, Inc. (AA)
Jim:
You know, I didn't like the
quarter. That's another one,
where I listened to that
conference call, and I said,
don't buy, don't buy... They
have good cash flow, and no
momentum. I would much rather
see you in a stock like a
Nucor (NUE*),
which is another cyclical
company that is really down on
its luck. We had Dan DiMicco on
Thursday. It's got a better
yield, and I think it has more
upside potential.

ATHR |
28.71 |
Atheros Communications Inc.
(ATHR)
Jim:
[audio inaudible, broken up]
conference call and, I've got to
tell you, that was nothing to
write home about. They didn't
say anything robust.
Texas Instruments (TXN)
was very similar, except all the
problems with Texas Instruments
were NOK. I prefer Texas
Instruments to Atheros. I prefer
Broadcom Corp. (BRCM)
to Atheros and, again, I'm going
to send you to
Skyworks Solutions Inc. (SWKS).
Why reinvent the wheel? If we
want communications, and we want
hardware or software, I am still
going to send you to Skyworks.

 |
SHLD |
70.24 |
Sears Holdings (SHLD)
Jim:
I would tell you that Sears...
it sells into what people think
are the first-time homebuyers.
And so, when that first-time
homebuyer credit expired, people
didn't want to own Sears. You
know what, I'm going to stick my
neck right here and say, you
know what? Buy, buy, buy! The
stock's down too much. I think
Eddie Lampert (CEO) in the $60s
and change, is probably buying a
lot of stock. He's got huge cash
flow. It is true that retail is
lagging. But, in the $60s, I
don't know... what are you going
to have? 5% downside, 20%
upside? I say that cuts in favor
of... all aboard!
|
|
 |
CME |
283.67 |
CME Group, Inc. (CME)
Jim:
Yeah, a lot of people got in
ahead of that (i.e., FinReg
passing), thinking that this was
going to be the greatest thing
in the world, since FinReg...
and they also like ICE... I
would not step away from this. I
think this company's going to
have a great 2011. I would
actually pull the trigger here.
And, I've got to tell you...
this is actually part and parcel
with the bear market in
financials. This company is
going to have a good year next
year. I don't care that there's
a lot more competition. I think
that they are a dominant player
and I want to own them.
|
|
 |
BIDU |
80.37 |
Baidu.com (BIDU)
Jim:
I still am on board. I've been
on board for a while. Let's ride
this thing to $90, and then
we're going to ring the register
at $90, because it depends. If
Google, Inc. (GOOG)
stops going up at all... I mean,
Google's been completely
flatlining here. If Google
starts going down here to $400,
we're going to reevaluate. But,
right now, Baidu has got that
great Chinese growth path, and
we're not abandoning it.
Price target for BIDU: $90.00
|
|
 |
CELG |
54.49 |
Celgene Corporation (CELG)
Jim:
Well, they do (have good
expectations about their ABLL
acquistion caller mentioned),
and emember, Bob Hugin (CEO) is
a neighbor of mine, and a
terrific guy. And Summit is
saying that that combination is
going to work, so I have to
believe that it will work. Now
here's the problem... Right now,
all the biotech stocks are on
just kind of a major roll.
Genzyme obviously started all
that with the Sanofi talk.
Biogen Idec Inc. (BIIB),
up a lot... Celgene, up a lot.
Celgene is not a takeover target
like
Genzyme Corp. (GENZ).
I think you can literally...
sell, sell, sell... scab some
and buy it back lower. I'm not
saying that Celgene is a
Gilead
(GILD),
it's not going to be that. But
when you see
Cephalon Inc. (CEPH),
Genzyme, Biogen Idec and Celgene
all up, what it says to me is
that is ETF activity pushing
them all up. I want to ring the
register and buy some Celgene
lower. And I like the company
very much. I'd still stick with
it, but I'd take a little off
the top...

ALU |

Alcatel-Lucent (ALU)
Jim:
I've got to tell you... run,
don't walk, out of that stock...
Sell, sell, sell! It is just a
wasting asset. It's been one of
the worst stocks I've ever seen,
and there's no reason to believe
it will turn. Let's go with high
quality. There's tons in that
sector, including by the way,
Broadcom Corp. (BRCM),
which just reported a
monster-good number, and I think
is doing terrifically.

CMI |
79.43 |
Cummins Inc. (CMI)
Jim:
You and me both, partner. It's
one of the largest positions at
my charitable trust...
You can follow along at
ActionAlertsPlus.com.
It reported a beautiful quarter.
As a matter of fact, at one
point, it was up $3. Because...
it started selling off like a
lot of the industrials, because
of this new rotation into the
soft goods, which seems to be
continuing after the close,
where I see NSC reported a great
number, and that railroad is
trading down. Cummins is a great
stock. However, I too succumb to
profit-taking, and took a little
off for
the charitable trust...
I'm not greedy. Don't you be
greedy. Recognize that the
stock's had a big run before you
pull the trigger.
|
|
 |
NTAP |
43.75 |
NetApp, Inc. (NTAP)
Jim:
Uh, that is one of the hottest
stocks there is. I thought about
making it the "N" in CANDIES, if
Netflix had blown up. It is a
terrific storage stock for
technology, and the answer is, I
want to own it. Remember, tech
tends to do poorly during the
summer months. But NTAP is a
monster-good stock that keeps
delivering the numbers. Don't be
greedy. The stock just had a big
run. Under $40, it would be one
of the strongest names I follow.
Price target to buy: Under
$40.00

BA |

Boeing (BA)
Jim:
The stock ran up four points
ahead of the quarter, which then
freaked everybody out. So then
they came out with what I
thought were beautiful gross
margins...
the charitable trust,
ActionAlertsPlus.com
owns it... I was so tempted to
pull the trigger and buy more.
But, you know what? Let these
guys... these clowns I used to
call them when I was less
diplomatic... and we're going to
let them do is clear out of the
way, and we're be able to buy
the stock at $65-66 and put it
away for a multiple... maybe as
long as a seven-year move...
because of all the big airline
cycles, and the new ones, have
lasted seven years. This one, my
friend, is... hallelujah! I like
it.
Price target to buy Boeing:
$65.00 - $66.00

SKX |
35.21 |
Skechers USA Inc. (SKX)
Jim:
I happened to be donning them
(i.e., "Shape-Ups" shoes) when I
was in Quahog, because I'm a
Hampton (guy)... Alright, they
reported after the close and it
was monster. It was a beautiful
quarter. The stock's trading up
in after-hours and, you know
what? Let's hold onto it because
Skechers is part of the shoe
bull market. Like
Jones Apparel (JNY)...
what a number that was today!..

RRC |
38.20 |
Range Resources Corp. (RRC)
Jim:
Talk about a tortured situation
that I think's going to start
doing better, when natural gas
becomes the fuel. But, right
now, I say this in defense of
Range... It's got the... it's up
1000%. We know, we got the
numbers the other day when we
had Mr. Pinkerton on. The stock
has come down a lot. I think
it's overdone. I like the stock,
but remember, natural gas is
stuck below $5. No one wants to
own the stocks. We are going to
have to export the stuff. If you
want to own a natural gas play,
you can own
Devon Energy (DVN)
for the balance sheet, or you
can own the
Chesapeake Energy - Preferred (CHK-PD).
Aubrey McClennan has got a piece
of paper that allows you to
participate in the above-$40s in
the Chesapeake, and pay you more
than 5% (dividend yield). That's
my way to go.

ONNN |
7.05 |
ON Semiconductor Corp. (ONNN)
Jim:
Look, this is a see saw... It's
a semiconductor that's part of
the internet tsunami. Remember,
ADC Telecom got taken out (i.e.,
acquired). Here's what's
happened. Right now,
semiconductors are in a bear
market. I did a whole big piece
yesterday about, if it's not in
Apple, it's no good. I urge you
to hold on. The market's
over-reacting to the downside.
Those stocks will come roaring
back in the fall. I repeat...
NVidia Corporation (NVDA)...
We got the bad news today, which
I said for the 1st half. I think
the 2nd half is brighter. Good
numbers from
Citrix Systems (CTXS).
I'm not quitting with tech. But
everybody else seems to be.

Jim:
No! Listen, I've got enough
problems defending the
semiconductors. I'm not going to
go across the board, whole hog
tech. I don't like the security
tech stocks. They are not my cup
of tea. What do I like? I like
parts that go into smartphones!
That's the area I excel in.
That's where we've made the big
money. That's where we continue
to make the big money.

CIEN |
13.10 |
CIENA Corp. (CIEN)
Jim:
Yes! Everybody hates it. We're
going to bring that CEO on. It's
got a multi-year story. It's all
about the voice network going to
the... the terrestrial thing
going to the cellular... you
could call it the bandwidth
explosion. Ciena's fine! It
doesn't go down on the bad days,
it'll go up on the good days.
|
|
 |
TEVA |
47.17 |
Teva Pharmaceutical
Industries Ltd. (TEVA)
Jim:
Everyday... this is the
worst-acting stock that I've
ever seen, and it didn't destroy
wildlife in the Louisiana/Gulf
of Mexico area. Now, here's what
I think... I think that Teva
is... I saw it, told people... I
sent an email out last night
(from)
ActionAlertsPlus.com...
I think it's wildly overdone.
It's had $6 billion in market
cap lost off of a drug that's
going to do $2 billion in 2014.
So I'm going to tell you Teva's
a buy, and tomorrow, I'm going
to have to take my pants down
and shoot myself because I said
it. But you know what? I'll take
my pants down, and I'll shoot
myself.

C |
4.12 |
Citigroup (C)
Jim:
Yes! Yeah, Tim Geithner
(Treasury Secretary) is a
seller... I'm a buyer!
Treasury's been unloading
stock... and the stock doesn't
go down. What does that tell
you? And Vikram Pandit... I
think is doing a dynamite job.

 |
MSFT |
26.03 |
Microsoft (MSFT)
Jim:
Jeez, neither here nor there. I
mean, Microsoft is
Sherwin-Williams. That means
it's "paint drying." I like
Sherwin-Williams Co. (SHW),
it's a growth stock. Microsoft's
not. I'm not interested in
Microsoft; I'm not going to
recommend it. I'm going to say
strictly, "don't buy"... and
strike.

Listen, sunshine... they tried
to keep that stock down all day,
and they couldn't, you know
that? That stock was at $83-84,
$83-84, $83-84... and, then when
the market burst out... I think
it's going to par...
genuine Wall Street jibberish
for $100... buy, buy, buy!...
And, Jacky, I want you to keep
buying it!
|
|
 |
ARNA |
7.95 |
Arena Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
(ARNA)
Jim:
Yeah, I'll go for it. This is
the anti-obesity play. Everybody
wants to play 'em. I'm not going
to stop people... buy, buy, buy!
Remember, though, it has had one
of the greatest runs in the
world... If you already owned
it, and it ran up, you should
have been selling half just to
be able to make sure you don't
lose this gain.

Rambus Inc. (RMBS)
Jim:
In the end, it's a
high-performance chip play.
There'll all bad. Let's take the
NVidia (NVDA)
for what it is. I said, after
they announce the bad 2nd

got $4-5 in cash. I like it more

Jim:
I went over that Acme Packet
nine ways to Sunday. I wrote a
piece about it on
RealMoney.com,
which is the paid site of
TheStreet.com,
where I'm chairman. And my
conclusion is: That stock needs
to cool off. It was too hot. I
think it goes to $23-24. When it
gets to that level, we will
revisit. But right now, I say
don't buy, don't buy...

Back up the truck -
indicated by Jim, when he
says the stock is so good,
that he would do a
'mon-back' on the stock...
In other words, this is the
sound someone would say to a
truck driver, "Come on
back... " as he is "backing
up the truck" to load up on
his cargo. Translation
for buying stocks:
This recommendation by Jim
indicates that, after you do
your own
homework on the stock,
you should feel comfortable
loading up on it, as it is
in a good position to be
bought at this point. |
|
 |
Stumped. - Of the
2,000+ stocks that Jim
Cramer has in his head, for
which he has an informed
opinion, he sometimes comes
across a caller with a stock
he does not know well enough
to opine on... He then
indicates he is stumped and
will have to come back to
it, after he does some
homework of his own on
the stock. This
usually occurs during the
Lightning Round, when Jim
does not know in advance who
is calling, or what their
stock question is about. |
